The problem comes where those two collide. Providing opportunity for young people, the innocent victims of birth, often means rescuing them not just from crippling poverty, but from relative poverty.

Our country often does not make good on either promise as the poorest people have the quietest voices. But the conflict over providing for a single man or woman who can't or won't provide for him/herself is relatively begnign. The real friction is over keeping the American Dream aliving. Giving young people the opportunity to prosper in a society that values the advantages afforded those raised with resources.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19305198.post-1164913929747830122006-11-30T14:12:00.000-05:002006-11-30T14:12:00.000-05:00Relative poverty seems to be simply rising expecta...Relative poverty seems to be simply rising expectations with attitude.

The problem arises from supplanting justice with his simpering nephew fairness.

If hope is not to degenerate into pie in the sky, it must be rooted in something (or rather, Someone) both active in the here-and-now and eternal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19305198.post-1164855009122025532006-11-29T21:50:00.000-05:002006-11-29T21:50:00.000-05:00We don't hear enough preached about hope.We don't hear enough preached about hope.Assistant Village Idiothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01978011985085795099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19305198.post-1164849057447557142006-11-29T20:10:00.000-05:002006-11-29T20:10:00.000-05:00The key to happiness in life is to learn to be con...The key to happiness in life is to learn to be content with who God has made you and what He has given you....if it were only as easy to practice as it is to say!

It occured to me that the true sustainer to the poor and downtrodden is Hope. No matter how bad things can be, if a person sees that there is the possibility of change and victory over dire circumstances, it is enough to sustain them and motivate them. It is the discouraged, who have no hope, either because they can see no way out of poverty, or because there really is no way out of it, that are in danger of resorting to crime and languishing in despair in the face of great obstacles.

Money is never a long-term solution to poverty or happiness, but can only be a tool for temporary help.terrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12399706958844399216noreply@blogger.com
